- Also, for solving the verbal and non-verbal questions, it is important that you remember the series of the alphabet along with their numerical positions from 1 to 26, and the understanding of directions should be accurate.
English Language & Comprehension:
- This section takes lesser time and can be candidates strength in the Stenographer exam. It tests English language proficiency in terms of knowledge and understanding. Having a good command over English Vocabulary and basic grammar rules can help candidates ace the section.
- There are two steps in which candidates can prepare and have a command on this section. First, improving comprehension skills that cannot be built overnight, it will take a course of time. Regular reading of newspapers, business magazines and feature stories can help improve comprehension skills faster. Second, improving Grammar, this can be worked upon by inculcating the habit of going through online flashcards, word lists or thesauruses regularly. Daily learning new words and putting them to use will enable you to remember it for a longer period.
General Knowledge & General Awareness:
- The easiest and the highest scoring sections in the Stenographer exam. It tests candidates’ awareness of the world around them. Having a good knowledge of Current Affairs, Static GK and General Science are enough to ace this section.
- In order to prepare for the general awareness section candidates should go about in the following manner for their preparation: Science – Polity – History – Geography – Economics – Miscellaneous.
- More questions are asked from the current affairs and static GK so the focus should be on them.
- Read newspapers, magazines, online GK blogs, and watch news channels daily to prepare for general awareness.
- Also, for better preparation of the GK section, it is important that candidates create notes and mind maps to help remember the chronology of events, cause and effects, important facts, etc.
