Useful tips and tricks to help you have a daily routine that is functional and truly workable for you on a day to day basis.
With tasks to do every single day, you’re a busy bee. When that business becomes kind of chaotic, it is time to do something about it. Being organised and having a routine that gets things done without causing you to burnout is a really excellent goal and it is totally doable with a little planning.
Here are our top tips to help you have a truly workable daily routine:
Write Down What Is Demanded Of You Daily
You’re spewing your entire thoughts down, not trying to fix everything with a coherent list so just scribble down every single thing that comes to mind. You should include everything that you should be doing, as well as things you are doing. Try to place notes about what is not working and what is working.
You can note down which tasks are absolutely necessary and which are not so necessary so that you can prioritise.
You should end up with a list of things to get done that are in small chunks, so you could easily place them into a schedule or planner.
Schedule In
Now you can create a schedule based around how you feel. If you are low energy and kind of a sloth in the mornings, then the morning isn’t the best time to get things done. Perhaps you are an early riser and feel lots of energy in the morning, in which case the morning is the best time to get the hardest tasks done. With your easy to schedule tasks above you should be able to place them. Use a full week schedule so that you can place items that may only be once a week.
Don’t Make It Rigid
What happens day to day might not necessarily fit in, but the point is that you have allocated time and made the intention for things to happen at certain times. Allow a bit of flexibility, including additional time for tasks that you know can take longer sometimes.
Switch And Adjust Accordingly
Now, looking at your schedule, how does your daily routine look. When you take a step back you may realise that your day to day routine does not look workable. If you’re trying to do too much you might need to make a cut of some things. This is where you can prioritise different parts of your life and look to make bigger changes. Day to day you may realise you hate your job, wish you had more hobbies, or need to make more friends. You can add in ten minutes meditation, take away some exercise if you realise you’re exhausting yourself, or create more space for spending time with loved ones. This is a routine that needs to work for you, and you should look at it and feel it achieves everything you want to achieve on a daily basis.
Try It Out
Try out your new routine and see how it feels. Because you have taken such a close look at your daily activities you should be able to see exactly where different tasks need to be moved to, or where you need more time. Tweak it until it works for you and then stick to it. Being your most efficient self is a really great way to boost confidence and a feeling of achieving goals, both short and long-term.
Enjoy creating your new day to day routine. If it flags up outstanding tasks you must do like clear a self storage unit from Storing.com (see this comparison chart of self storage prices) or apply for new jobs, then make time for those things. This is all about enabling you to progress, whatever that means for you.
